In what was labeled “great resignation,” millions of American workers quit their work, leaving millions of positions that are not filled (through Harvard University). While almost every industry has been affected, the service industry has been very difficult. Restaurants, bars, hotels, and the like struggle to keep operational without staff needed to run everyday operations. Some restaurants have reported seeing 50 to 100% more business than pre-pandemic, but without staff to handle it. LG hopes to overcome it with sersbot cloi.
The CLOi ServeBot: Robotic Service Staff
LG Cloi Sersbot is the first robot to achieve UL 3300 certification, which means it can operate in a complex environment. This makes it ideal for restaurants, hotels and retail outlets.
Cloi Sersebot has a semi-autonomic operation and can carry up to 66 pounds of goods. This robot has a 9.2-inch touch screen, which can be used by operators to enter information. When it is not used for input, the touch screen displays a friendly face, with cartoon eyes designed to place customers comfortably.
Each shelf has the flight sensor time (TOF) itself, which allows it to be known when an item has been removed. It helps robots know when the task is complete and it’s time to switch to the next. In addition to shelves, the Robot TOF sensor can be used for navigation by measuring how long for light pulses to be reflected back from the object.
“The LG Cloi Sersbot is truly a breakthrough for all types of businesses that focus on consumers, from restaurants to retail stores to the hotel,” Jeffrey Weiland, B2B robotics team leader at the LG Business Solutions USA. Cloi Sersebot provides 11 hours of operation of the full cost, and will be available through certified integrators at the beginning of 2022. There is no price information that has been shared by the creator of Servebot Cloi yet – we will see!
